Robert JE Simpson was born and bred in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He holds a BA in Film and MA in Film & Visual Studies from QUB.

He is a freelance film and cultural historian, and has contributed to books, magazines, tv, documentaries, Blu-Ray releases and radio. He regularly appears at festivals hosting events and conducting on-stage interviews. He is founder and co-director of CinePunked. He has exhibited his photography in several shows, and is currently re-discovering drawing and painting as a result of the recent lockdowns. Robert has a keen interest in history, cinema and mental health, with elements of each feeding through into his various projects.

He is available for live events, workshops, interviews, commissions.
